Beautiful location and lovely seaside town
Would have prefered to stay in main castle not new annexe, as although very nice no character
All staff were friendly.
Staff's english was not good for listening, so it was difficult to communicate with them. The hotel was not acceptable for delivery service of small parcel, so I had to go to post office myself to send a parcel.
The bathroom was large.
There were unidentfied noises constantly coming through the skylight in the bathroom. Beds were extremely hard. No screens on the windows and nats were present if opened windows.
It was great to stay in a castle, and also to find out that it had been there where Marconi did some of his radio experiments. Loved the lifts, tunnels, the park and the way the the castle had been restored, very tasteful.
The hot eggs and bacon at breakfast time were not to my liking, but the rest of the food for breakfast was great.
The staff was extremely helpfull and nice. The castle and its gardens were beatiful and quiet. The panoramic view of the city was amazing too.
Pillows were quite hard. the location up the hill and 20 min walking from the station may be an issue if you not manage timings and don't want to walk..
Great room, lovely views & garden. Good food. Top place to relax.
Excellent hotel with really friendly, helpful staff. This is a geat place to stay if you want to visit Cinque Terre. It's a really handy train journey from the local train station or alternatively you can travel by ferry. The food is really good though a bit pricy - and there is an excellent wine list. The service is also excellent. There is a wonderful view from the dining room. There is a real touch of luxury and romance about the castle.
It would be useful to have a banister/handrail going up the few steps to the restaurant and also in the restaurant itelf. It's not a climb or anything like it but I had recently broken my ankle and just felt I neded a little more security.
Staff was great and hotel felt like a museam. Grounds were impressive and proximity to town, restaurants, etc. was very good. Felt like royalty. View from room (409) were special. We travel extensively and thought our stay at your hotel was our most enjoyable and impressive ever.
Hotel could do better in advising guests of amenities. For example, on our last morning we accidentally found the oceanside cliff path that curves around the the hill that the hotel sits. The views were incredable and our walk was a major highlight of our trip. Also, no one suggested we visit the solarium which afforded great views which we enjoyed during the day and evenings.Did we miss anything else?
Fantastic location and view, friendly and serviceminded staff!
The seagull walking the roof at the breakfast room - get rid of it! Beds - not good enough!
I liked the town of Sestri Levante
Good location excellent lift access to town and private beach. Public areas very characturful. Beautiful cliffside private gardens.
Disapointed with room location, poor view, problems with staff parking below our balcony and smelly dustbins. Very expensive charges for use of sunloungers and towels.
Magical setting, beautiful grounds. Views to die for. I wish we had stayed longer. We definitely want to come back!
We found the room massive, and very very clean. We were thankful that we had air conditioning as it was very hot!
At times other guests were noisy, especially Americans!!
My wife had spent some time in Sestri Levante about 35 yrs ago and had admired the Hotel from a distance and thought, one day, she would like to stay in it. So we decided to spend 2 nights there, as a special treat, during our European holiday (from Australia). It was fantastic and fulfilled her dream. Thanks very much.
Our experience at Grand Hotel Deil Castelli was very pleasant - the hotel staff were extremely helpful in terms of giving us ideas on how to see all the sights surrounding the hotel - especially Cinque Terre and Portofino. We were made to feel very welcome by everyone and the room was very comfortable. We also dined in the restaurant and both the food and service were excellent.
We were extremely disappointed with the swimming pool that the hotel offered. We were looking forward to having some time to relax and swim but when we got to the pool, the water was extremely dirty and there was no way we were going to enter the water. To make it worse, we were actually charged 18 Euro to use the lounge chairs and we were there for only 2 hours. This was very disappointing. We felt that for the prices the hotel charges, the use of the lounge chairs should be included and they should attempt to keep the pool clean.
